Write your name in Chinese at Taylorsville Library Fri. 6-8 pm 9/29/23, SLC, UT 

The members of the Salt Lake Eastern Art Club will demonstrate how to write Chinese brush calligraphy and provide art services by translating an English name into Chinese and writing Chinese names for the public. The Chinese calligraphers can write a calligraphy art piece on different contents on site by request.  This art service is part of the celebration of the Mid-Autumn (or Moon Cake) Festival activities.

Art Exhibit of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting at Millcreek Library, UT (Sept. 1 – Sept. 29, 2023)

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Salt Lake Eastern Art Club presents 39 pieces of authentic Chinese brush calligraphy and ink-color painting artworks, created by 16 local Chinese artists and 14 art-students. The contents of Chinese calligraphy describe beautiful full moon or famous ethic teachings. The ink-color painting includes lovely cats, panda, birds, flowers, mountains and more.  

Art Exhibit of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting at Sandy Library, UT (Sept. 1 – Sept. 29, 2023)

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Salt Lake Eastern Art Club presents 30 pieces of authentic Chinese brush calligraphy and ink-color painting artworks, created by 16 local Chinese artists and 2 art-students. The contents of Chinese calligraphy describe beautiful full moon and thinking of family. The ink-color painting includes lovely cats, panda, birds, flowers, mountains and more.  

For Seniors: Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Sharing Classes

Free seniors’ sharing classes of Chinese painting and calligraphy will be held on every third Thursday 10:00 -12:00 AM from July 20, 2023 to June 20, 2024 at the Mt. Olympus Senior Center, Holladay, Utah. The first hour of the class will focus on Chinese calligraphy and the second hour on Chinese painting. Practice materials will be provided.
